Ross & Marina Iloilo Seafood Oysters was known for the biggest, thickest, juiciest, freshest perfectly grilled Blue Marlin Steaks in Town!
To give you a background about Marina. A proud Ilonggo, Ross Gorriceta inspired by his wife Marina Luz decided to put up a native Seafood Restaurant on the breezy Banks of the mighty Iloilo River. They wanted to share their love and passion for fresh Seafood and Ilonggo Cuisine with their fellow Ilonggos and visitors of Iloilo City. In October 1987, local legend was born by the water , serving succulent seafood; and names after a loving wife Marina. In May 2002, their son Ross Paul Gorriceta brought the concept to Metro Manila in honor of his parents named his restaurant “Ross & Marina Iloilo Oysters Seafood”. He set out to create a portal to Iloilo for Metro Manila Residents to experience Ilonggo Cuisine and fresh Seafood and for Ilonggos to remind them of home.
My first visit with Marina was when my dad brought us for a Christmas family gathering . The place was big, cozy, they have a space for parties and their Menu has a lot to offer from food , drinks and desserts . For short we spent a long hours staying there becuase it feels like home.
This ECQ , they are back to serve you . I had their food delivery last week. I had their Marina Bulalo Batchoy and Marina Laswa.
MARINA Laswa (Egg-drop Vegetable Soup)This is their house version of the traditional Ilonggo Laswa. Inspired by the Chinese Egg-drop soup, i drop a raw egg in the boiling hot broth before serving. This enhances the medley of vegetable and shrimp flavours in the soup, making the dish more savoury and soulful. Since takeout, they send along the raw egg separately; this will allow me to reheat the soup to boiling before dropping in the egg, or opt not to, for the Ilonggo traditionalists.
MARINA Bulalo Batchoy .The favourite Ilonggo comfort food taken to the next level, made more savoury and sinful with bone marrow and tender bulalo! For takeout, they send along the broth separately, allowing me to reheat to boiling before pouring at tableside.
Both dish are so good and serving was generous . When it comes to Batchoy Ilonggo Cuisine is the go to place and Marina is my comfort place for Batchoy .
